The CF-74 is the ideal companion for a demanding sales representative. An integrated carry handle acts as protection against the number one reason for notebook damage – dropping it. Furthermore the CF-74 is equipped with a robust magnesium alloy casing that offers perfect protection for components such as the hard drive and display. An Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500 CPU provides performance at 2 GHz. Presentations appear clearly on a bright 13.3 inch TFT-LCD that includes an anti-reflex coating – and all that with up to 8 hours with one fully charged battery. Besides WLAN (standard) other wireless solutions (GPRS or Bluetooth®) may be integrated. A Multimedia-pocket® allows for many drives. The CF-74 comes with a DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW Multi Drive as standard.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-74, developed as the successor to the CF-73, launched in April 2006. The new 2-gigahertz Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500 allows faster computing processes, even with complex applications and multitasking. The wireless features have also been maximized. With integrated WLAN, GPRS/EDGE and Bluetooth, three different wireless options can be used simultaneously. An optional integrated GPRS/EDGE module means the PCMCIA/express card slot stays freely configurable, and also avoids protruding GPRS cards that can easily break. The WLAN connection can be switched off at the touch of a button – a useful energy-saving feature.

The battery has a life of up to eight hours for working independently as long as possible. Thanks to its 512-megabyte RAM and 80-gigabyte hard drive capacity, the Toughbook 74 is even suitable for memory-hungry applications. To make mobile working outdoors more comfortable, the display brightness has been increased to 540 cd/m², with an extra anti-reflex coating for better readability helping to prevent tired eye

The most common cause of accidents with notebooks is dropping them while in transport. However, the CF-74 comes fitted with a practical carrying handle to prevent drops. Plus, the hard drive is protected against shocks and vibrations, making even falls from a height of up to three feet harmless for the CF-74.
